You will receive 2 - $25 Certificates for $25! Even though it's buffet style, you'll still get full table service. Order your drinks and dessert from the server, who cheerfully provides refills, clears plates, serves wine and beer and displays the dessert tray.
Contessa uses a marinara, made every morning from an old family recipe, for most of its base sauces. During dinner, Contessa offers five salads (seven if you count the build-it-yourself green salad and Caesar); a soup that changes daily; five main dishes and one special.
The restaurant creates its salads every morning. Besides a bowl of freshly cut fruit, you'll find an orecchiette salad. The al dente pasta is cooled and tossed with ham, salami, celery, carrot, roasted red peppers and onions in an Italian vinegarette.
Contessa Cafe is not a secret. Expect to wait for a table during peak times.
The restaurant seats about 40 to 50 inside and about 20 on the patio. Reservations are accepted for parties of eight or more.
